After 42+ years of practicing as a licensed psychologist, I have decided, it is time to retire.
I want to thank you for the opportunity to get to know you – to share your sorrows as well as laugh with you. My goal as a psychologist was helping you look at yourself, others in your life and situations in different ways while demonstrating compassion for what you’ve felt. Out of this process, my goal was to help you discover new ways in moving forward.
It takes strength to first recognize the signals of needing professional help and even greater strength to seek out such support and guidance. I have been very appreciative of your putting your trust in me.
March 31, 2026 is the closing date of my practice. If you decide at any point to resume mental health treatment, you may want to ask friends or relatives for recommendations for good psychologists or contact the Maryland Psychological Association at 410-992-4258.
Also, with your written authorization, copies of pertinent information from your record can be made available to a mental health professional of your choosing. All inquiries about records or other matters should be directed to snliebermanphd51@gmail.com.
I’ll leave you with this thought shared by Dr. Penelope Leach, a child psychologist - “The more you give, the more you get and the more you get, the more you feel like giving.”
Thank you for your trust.
Sincerely,
Saul N. Lieberman, Ph.D.
Maryland License #01696
